‘Puppet CM, sad day for Delhi’ : AAP MP Swati Maliwal slams Atishi’s appointment as chief Minister

‘There is only one Chief Minister of Delhi and that is Arvind Kejriwal,’ said Atishi after AAP MLAs chose her to succeed Mr. Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party legislators in New Delhi have elected State Minister Atishi as the new Chief Minister designate in place of Arvind Kejriwal, who will tender his resignation when he meets Lieutenant-Governor (L-G) V.K. Saxena today (September 17, 2024).

Mr. Kejriwal is scheduled to meet Mr. Saxena at 4.30 p.m., paving the way for the appointment of Atishi as the new Chief Minister of Delhi in his stead. Mr. Kejriwal had proposed Atishi as his replacement as AAP legislators met at his residence, and the decision was accepted by all MLAs.
